Hannah Ellis Knows Nothing Brings People Together Like 'Country Can'

Hannah Ellis knows as well as anyone... country fans can always count on the genre to fire the neon up on a Saturday night, to keep the dive bars open until after closing time, and make the jukebox rock or tip a cover band.

Ellis debuted her latest single, “Country Can,” earlier this month. The upbeat track serves as a tribute to all the ways country music can unify audiences, building bonds between friends (and even strangers in the bar). The Kentucky-born artist penned the song with Jason Massey, Parker Welling, and her husband, fellow singer-songwriter Nick Wayne, according to a press release from her record label.

“Country can, country can/ Get a cold one in my hand/ Make these old boots wanna dance with somebody/ Make my two lane, four wheels roll down a winding back road/ Nothing turns my radio to gold like country can.”

“This song is so special to me and I hope you turn it up loud every time you hear it!” Ellis gushed in her Instagram caption when she released her new single. Its long-awaited release comes after weeks of teasing “Country Can” on Ellis’ social media channels. Last month, Ellis knew: “I think it’s about time for some new music, don’t you?”

Ellis finally unveiled the release date of “Country Can” with a truck wrap on the #98 car at the NASCAR Playoff Race on July 29 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She delivered a stunning performance of the National Anthem the same day, the press release states. Listen to “Country Can” here:
