Sam Hunt Talks Touring With 'Denzel'

You know you have "made it" as a country artist when you can finally hit the road in a swanky tour bus. However, that's not exactly the glamorous way touring and road life usually begins. way touring, and road life usually begins.

Sam Hunt and his crew initially started touring the country in a cramped and crowded van.

In a recent interview with Cody Alan, Sam reveals that he is roaming in a suped-up tour bus and is "kind of a house cat now."

"It is nice," says Sam. "I have gotten used to the rumble of the highway at night. If you have a good driver, you can sleep pretty well."

Before his restful nights of sleep, though, Sam continued to share that he and his band would travel in a band van named "Denzel."

"I can't take credit for that name," laughs Sam. "I honestly don't remember who came up with it, but I just remember that one day the van was "Denzel," and from then on, we called it Denzel."

The name Denzel is a boy's name of Cornish origin, meaning "from the high stronghold."

Whether Sam and his band chose this name from a baby book or if it was dutiful dubbed "Denzel" by fate, it's pretty safe to say that "Denzel" had staying power and had a big hand in launching Sam's successful country music career.

From what we can tell, Sam is still happy to carry his own gear. See the pic below.
