People who get drunk sometimes think they have superhuman strength and aren't afraid of anything. They also often learn quickly that they aren't that strong and fear is often a good thing. Take this 23-year-old for instance, who is thought to have been drunk at the time, being filmed by baffled visitors to Warsaw’s zoo, which had just reopened after Poland’s coronavirus lockdown was eased.
In the video, the unnamed man can be seen wandering around an artificial island while a large bear called Sabrina moves towards him. He jumps into a moat inside the enclosure to escape Sabrina’s advances, but the animal bruin follows him into the water. As a crowd watches, the pair fight each other for about a minute with the man at one point dunking the bear underwater.
He then pushes the animal away before finally finding refuge on the top of an artificial island.
Emergency crews responded to the scene to remove the man from the enclosure. He was arrested and charged with animal cruelty, disturbing the peace and not wearing a face mask under the country’s coronavirus guidelines. He was sentenced to 20 hours of community service per month and agreed to give up alcohol.
