It’s pretty apparent that folks are getting into the holiday spirit, and that includes listening to classic holiday tracks. On the latest edition of the “Billboard” Hot 100 singles chart, not only is Mariah Carey’s“All I Want For Christmas Is You” at number one, classic tunes by Brenda Lee and Burl Ives have landed in the Top Ten.
Lee’s classic “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” lands at three on the chart this week, which is a new high for the tune. The track first entered the Hot 100 Top 10 last year, 58 years after its release. It is now the third-highest charting holiday song, behind Mariah’s hit, and “The Chipmunk Song,” which topped the chart for four weeks back in 1958.
Also landing in the Top Ten this week is Burl Ives’“Have A Holly Jolly Christmas” at ten, matching its highest ever chart performance.
