The Black Rifle Coffee Co. opened in San Antonio today with full drive-thru and in-store services near the intersection of Bitters Road and U.S. 281. This is the first brick-and-mortar shop in the city for the popular Salt Lake City-based franchise.
The veteran-owned company was already selling bagged coffee at various kiosks in The Shops at La Cantera and North Star Mall and decided to open a full location in San Antonio.
Scott Harvey, chief operating officer for Black Rifle, told My San Antonio, "This is a town that loves its military, and this was the natural place to be. There are so many active duty members here and a community of veterans. We needed to be here."
More than 15 different blends of coffee as well as nitro options and a full espresso bar will be featured at the new location. The food menu includes breakfast sandwiches, salads, and grab-and-go lunch options.
The company devotes approximately 50 percent of its sales to its merchandise, selling hats, shirts, blankets, and accessories. Shane Baker, director of retail for the brand, said, "These shirts played a very large part in developing our following. That's about an even split of our business with the coffee."
