The Band Perry marked the beginning of a fresh chapter with the group’s first new music to release in nearly a decade.
“PSYCHOLOGICAL” arrived on Friday (February 13). The single is described as “a mad and manic story of lovestruck obsession, the unhinged, gothic waltz starts with a simple piano riff,” states a press release. Clara Park, Grace Tyler, and Colton Venner wrote the song and award-winning producer Dann Huff “amped (it) up” with a “dialed, country-rock production.”

The Band Perry launched a meteoric rise in country music with the group’s self-titled debut album in 2010. Frontwoman Kimberly Perry started the band with brothers Reid Perry and Neil Perry. They went on to score honors from the Country Music Association, the Academy of Country Music and more, plus scored several No. 1 hits with “If I Die Young,” “Better Dig Two,” “Done” and more. The trio announced in early 2023 that they’d “decided to take a creative break as a group and each focus on our individual creative pursuits.” The Band Perry reunited with Reid Perry, Kimberly Perry and her husband, Johnny Costello, for a hometown show to help with Hurricane Helene relief efforts on early 2025. They announced an official comeback months later, and Reid Perry has since left the band; however, Kimberly Perry said in a recent conversation on Rolling Stone’s Nashville Now podcast that there’s always room to share the stage with her brothers again if they choose to return.
“Stepping back into The Band Perry with Johnny by my side feels like coming home and starting a brand new adventure all at once,” Kimberly Perry said in a statement. “We wanted our first song of Season 2 of The Band Perry to be the perfect blend of nostalgia - everything our fans know and love TBP to be - and authentically reflective of where we are here in 2026. It’s loud, it’s passionate, it’s devoted, it’s delusional. It is quintessentially ‘us.’”

PSYCHOLOGICAL is so much more than just a song to us - it’s our story, our spirit, and our vision coming to life, and we are so incredibly grateful to share it with you.”
