You might have a quarter worth $10,000!

Errors on the 1999 Georgia state quarter could have you rolling in dough! There are serveral issues with the quarters and it has pushed the value of some of the coins to as high as $10,000.

According to the U.S. Coins Guide, there are 5 types of errors on the 1999 Georgia Quarter. The biggest error involves coins struck on experimental metals, called planchets, intended for the Sacagawea dollar. So keep an eye on the color, which will be gold to green as opposed to a regular silver-color. If you want to see examples and the list of errors click here.

TheĀ U.S. Coins GuideĀ  also points out that, Georgia quarters were among the first states to be printed in the series. At the time, the U.S. Mint was working on new metal alloys for coins, including one that had a gold tint that was eventually used for one-dollar Sacagawea coins that came out in 2000.
