It was a tough weekend for my son, Max. His soccer team went winless and, in fact, didn't even score a goal. I was thrilled that they weren't given a consolation "participation" award for their efforts. Sometimes, losing is good for you. It makes you appreciate your wins even more and also helps you focus more during practice. It builds character. I love it when my boys win...but I also see the value in losing. I wish we all did.
