The superintendent of Midland Public Schools near Detroit is dealing with a Facebook rumor that his school is providing litter boxes for students that identify as ‘furries’ after a parent brought the rumor up at a school board meeting.
“There is no truth whatsoever to the false statement/accusation,” wrote Superintendent Michael E. Sharrow. Saying that it was “unconscionable” that he had to make the post, Sharrow said “Let me be clear in this communication. There have never been litter boxes within MPS schools.”
