Police Shooting Dash Cam Video Released

Wednesday, the Allen County Sheriff's Office released dashboard camera footage showing the minutes before and after Quincy Pritchett was shot and killed by a Deputy Izak Ackerman in the early morning hours of June 21st.

After a short vehicle pursuit, Pritchett pulled into an alley and exited his vehicle. It is not apparent from the video footage if Pritchett was armed when he got out of the car. Deputy Ackerman then chased him on foot while simultaneously yelling for Pritchett to stop and raise his hands.

Additionally, an apparent struggle between the two men is not clearly seen in the video.

Shortly thereafter, Deputy Ackerman can be seen returning to his cruiser as dispatch asks if he needs backup. He replies, “I don’t know where I’m hit, but I’m hit somewhere...suspect is down but I’m bleeding.”

Ackerman was eventually taken to a Columbus hospital for surgery and was released the day after the incident.
