For the first time in three years, Applebee’s is returning their famous $1 “Dollarita” to menus. It’s a revamped version of the original that is served in a 12-ounce rocks glass (the previous Dollarita was 10 ounces) and includes tequila, lime mix, and triple sec. You may want to grab one soon because according to Joel Yashinsky, Chief Marketing Officer of Applebee’s, it’s not a permanent addition.
The original Dollarita first arrived in 2017 and Yashinsky said “The Dollarita really spurred a resurgence for our brand and helped kick off a newfound energy, which we’ve leveraged in the past five, six years”. It stayed on the seasonal menu for three years and left in 2020 to be replaced by premium $5 and $6 “Mucho” drinks but fans were persistent in asking for its return.
Yashinsky goes on to say “The timing just felt right, to bring it back on its sixth anniversary and we want to celebrate the return of something that was special for our guests”. The $1 Dollarita is available for a limited time at Applebee’s almost 2,000 nationwide locations.
