Taco Bell To Re-Release Classic Menu Items From Across The Decades - JB

Taco Bell is famous for tweaking its menu by discontinuing certain items and bringing them back occasionally, but now they've decided to re-release some classic menu items from decades past. This re-release is only for stores in California presently, but the chain has teased a national release later this year. Here are the five favorites that are returning while supplies last.

  • 1960s Item – Tostada – one of Taco Bell’s original menu items at its first location in 1962, it will sell for $2.19 and includes refried beans, red sauce, lettuce, and cheese.
  • 1970s Item – Green Burrito – a burrito with bean and cheese filling, onions, a green salsa made from green chili, tomatillos, and jalapeños selling for $2.49.
  • 1980s Item – Meximelt – this item was introduced in the ‘80s and remained on menus until 2019. It’s a folded flour tortilla with ground beef, pico de gallo, and a three-cheese melted mix of mozzarella, cheddar, and Monterey jack priced at $2.99.
  • 1990s Item – Beef Gordita Supreme – the same three-cheese blend as the Meximelt, lettuce, tomatoes, and reduced-fat sour cream on top of seasoned beef in a flatbread. It’s priced at $2.99.
  • 2000s Item – Caramel Apple Empanada – an empanada with a crisp exterior and warm filling of apples and caramel flavor for $2.99.

Like many promotions, these re-released items will only be available for a limited time while supplies last.
