A source close to the investigation says that former Williamston Police Chief Richard Inman has been arrested in Franklin County, Georgia.

Simpsonville police investigator Cheryl Manley said in a release that Inman was arrested at 12:30 Sunday afternoon.

Inman is currently in police custody and efforts are being made to bring him back to Greenville County on his charges, Manley said in the release.

The Bank of America on Fairview Road in Simpsonville was robbed Saturday morning, according to Simpsonville police.

Police later confirmed the man in the picture is Inman.

Officials say the suspect entered the bank just before 10 a.m. and handed the teller a note stating that he was armed and demanding money.

Officials say he obtained an undisclosed amount of money and exited the bank.

He then left the scene.

No one was injured, according to Simpsonville Police.
