- Teachers Accused Of Forcing Student To Scrub Floor With Toothbrush: Two teachers in Florida are being accused of making a seven-year-old student scrub the floors with a toothbrush. Rebecca Shinleber, a teacher at Lake Alfred Elementary School in Polk County is being accused of forcing the little girl to scrub floors after she “spoke out of turn.” The student says she was sent to another room and a different teacher, Helena Mays handed her a bucket filled with water and a toothbrush and told her to start scrubbing. The girl’s father Kenneth Gamble wants Shinleber and Mays to be fired and so far, the teachers are on paid administrative leave and are being investigated by the district, the Department of Children and Families and police.
