- Funeral Home Fined For Storing Applesauce In Embalming Room: Joseph Wagner runs a funeral home in Jordan, Minnesota. He also owns an apple orchard nearby. But now he’s facing fines for mixing up the two businesses by storing jars of applesauce in the embalming room of his funeral home. According to inspection reports, crates of applesauce stacked four feet high were stored for about a year in the same room where harmful chemicals are used to embalm bodies. That’s not all he’s in trouble for either, he’s been earning a bunch of violations, including failure to display his mortician license and failure to complete and retain a certificate of removal before removing bodies. Yikes!
