Carrie Underwood is getting “back to my roots!”
The eight-time Grammy winner, 42, posted photos of her stunning new hair transformation on Monday (August 4), revealing that she returned to her natural hair color after about three decades. Thousands of commenters gushed over the “gorgeous” color, including sister duo Tigirlily Gold, Maddie & Tae’s Taylor Kerr, former American Idol contestant Breanna Nix, and more.
“Well, the last time I saw my natural hair color, I was probably about 12 years old, but I thought it might be time to give it a second chance,” Underwood wrote in her caption on Instagram. She tagged her hir stylist at Parlour 3, a salon in Brentwood, Tennessee, outside of Nashville, and thanked her stylist “for helping me get back to my roots!”
Underwood’s hair transformation arrives shortly after she shared the first look at her new Sunday Night Football opening. The country superstar is performing the opening for her 13th consecutive season this year, which also marks Sunday Night Football’s 20th season. Underwood, who reportedly makes $18 million per season, said the creative director and his team “continue to raise the bar, bringing the high energy and stunning visuals that the Sunday Night Football audience has come to expect year after year. I can’t wait for the world to see it!” The new Sunday Night Football performance will premiere on September 7.
